Adjunct Instructor – Nursing Program -- Clinical / Administrative

Job Description

Overview:

The part timeclinical adjunct instructor provides education through student-centeredinstruction that will enable students to fulfill the evolving needs of thehealthcare workplace upon graduation. S/He encourages a culture of learningthat values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning and ethics aswell as personal and professional development. This adjunct position is exempt.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the clinical adjunct instructor:

  • Instructs the classroom and skills practice portion of the nursing assistant program.

  • Responsible for evaluating student learning, objective achievement, and providing feedback.

  • Provides tutoring to students as needed.

  • Attends Allen School academic and staff meetings and all official functions, participates in at least one committee, and performs any duties as may be required by the administration commensurate with an instructor position.

  • Maintains current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum, and student learning outcomes in a timely manner.

  • Positive role model that exemplifies professionalism in appearance, classroom management and behavior.

  • Adheres to and assists in the implementation of Allen School policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with the Allen School’s Mission Statement.

  • Applies Institutional EDUCATE Core Values in the completion of all job assignments

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimally possess an RN

  • Current credentials/license are a must

  • New York Education Department teaching license. If you do not possess a current NY license, we will assist the right candidates with obtaining this license.

  • A minimum of two years of experience directly related to the areas of instruction is preferred.

  • Capacity to teach a course load of typically 1-2 sections in the day and/or weekend program.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required

  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work effectively in a team environment
