Plans, coordinates, and implements nutritional therapy services for assigned populations.
Assesses patient's nutritional status and needs. Develops and implements patient care plans and assesses patient responses.Collaborates with physicians, nursing, pharmacy and other healthcare team members/departments to determine, coordinate, and provide medical nutrition therapy.Collaborates with departmental management to provide nutritionally appropriate menus, food options, and services for patients and visitors.Develops and provides education, training, consulting, and counseling services throughout the organization and for the community on topics including eating disorders, weight loss, and dietary modifications for healthy lifestyles.
- Bachelor’s degree required
*Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Certifications
Minimum Work Experience
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) required
- Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic Registration required (within 1 year of hire)
